There are a lot of ways that you can make money with your WordPress blog. It really depends on what it is that you want to do and how far you’re willing to go, but if you’re looking for the most realistic, we recommend focusing on affiliate marketing and sponsored posts. With either option, the amount of traffic you need in order for it to be worth your time varies depending on how much money you want to make. In order for an affiliate marketing strategy or a sponsored post campaign to be worth your time, we recommend having at least 1000 views per day.
The CPM model
In order for a blog post to have a chance at generating revenue, it needs to be viewed by an audience. The more views a blog post gets, the higher the CPM (cost per thousand) rate becomes. This means that if your blog posts are generating 2,000 views each month on average, you could earn anywhere from $8-10 per 1,000 views. It all depends on how many visitors your site is getting and what type of content you’re posting.
The CPC model
The biggest thing to remember is that you only make money on your blog through the ads, but you need a lot of traffic in order to get those. The second biggest thing is that there are three different types of ads on WordPress- Cost Per Click (CPC), Cost Per Thousand Impressions (CPM), and Cost Per Lead (CPL). It takes about 100 clicks at $0.20 CPC for someone to start making any profit with their blog. That doesn’t sound like much, but if they have a blog with even 1,000 views per day, then they’re making $200 per day!
